Directors are curious about AI. That much is clear.

The question being asked in boardrooms and at governance events across the world is no longer whether AI can help directors.

It is which AI.

And whether it was built with the director's world in mind.

Most AI tools were not.

They were built for general use, for drafting emails, writing code, answering questions. Powerful. Capable. Genuinely impressive.

But not built with the confidentiality of board information as a first principle.

When or if a director was to upload a board pack to a general-purpose AI tool, that document, containing possibly unpublished financial results, pending transactions, inside information, regulatory correspondence and strategic decisions not yet in the public domain, leaves their device and enters a third-party environment. In many cases it is logged. In some cases it contributes to the training data that improves the model for other users. In almost every case the director would not have considered what happens to that information after they close the browser.

This is not a criticism of those tools. They were never designed for this.

They were not built for the governance context. And that distinction matters.

For the first time, directors have access to an AI tool that was built specifically for their role.

Stateless - meaning your documents are reviewed and then they are gone. Encrypted - meaning what you upload cannot be intercepted in transit. Jurisdiction-aware - meaning the review is grounded in the regulatory framework that actually governs your appointment. Private - meaning your board papers are visible to nobody but you.

No logs. No training data. No residual exposure.

Directors have always been expected to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.

Now they have a tool that maintains those same standards on their behalf.

It is about time.
